A Thousand Letters, an all-new emotional standalone by Staci Hart is LIVE!!!

Sometimes your life is split by a single decision.
I’ve spent every day of the last seven years regretting mine: he left, and I didn’t follow. A thousand letters went unanswered, my words like petals in the wind, spinning away into nothing, taking me with them.
But now he’s back.
I barely recognize the man he’s become, but I can still see a glimmer of the boy who asked me to be his forever, the boy I walked away from when I was young and afraid.
Maybe if he’d come home under better circumstances, he could speak to me without anger in his voice. Maybe if I’d said yes all those years ago, he’d look at me without the weight of rejection in his eyes. Maybe if things were different, we would have had a chance.
One regretted decision sent him away. One painful journey bought him back to me. I only wish I could keep him.

My Review:
"When pain is over, the remembrance of it often becomes a pleasure."~Anne Elliot, Jane Austen's PERSUASION

First I had to tell that I loved the cover. And because of this I decided to read this story! 😊
But I have mixed feelings about the book. This book was beautifully written. The author wrote beautiful methaphors. I loved it. But I had a little problem with the story. It unfolded so slowly, it bothered me. But the character's feelings was thorough, detailed. And I liked it. MIXED feelings like I said. 😊
This wasn't a lightsome story. Elliott and Wade broke up seven years ago. Both of them were heartbroken. They didn't really live in these years. Wade became a soldier, he went through a lot of things, saw awful things. He made a mistake seven years ago, but he couldn't come back, and make it right. And these things made him cold, distant.
"Life inside of war is no life at all. It shrinks your world down to a thirty-mile radius, and everyone in that radius is living the same hell. There's a comfort in that. But there's also fear, fear that you'll never live that normal life again"~Wade
Elliot stayed here, with her sister. I didn't really liked her. I didn't like to read about how her family treated her, and she let it. I think this was the first thing what I didn't like.
There were a lot of quotes from classic books and poems in the book, and I loved it, these made the book more unique. The author put these quotes to the right places in the story.
"Here
(Not there, not far)
Now
(Not then, not ago)
You will find a way
To love."
-M. White

"Hurt is so easy, Loss so simple
In its complexity,
And to fall into
The arms of the dark
Is effortless."
-M. White

"Home  is not a place,
Not a smell,
Not a face,
But a space
In your heart"
-M.White

Elliot and Wade still loved each other, but I thought they didn't know how to be together, how to forgave each other. I loved to read about, how they found each other again.
"He touched my hand and wiped away the past. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me back into his heart. he wishpered to me in the dark and gave me hope."~Elliot
"Sometimes things are too broken to put back together."~Wade
"Life is short, so short, so precious, every minute, every day. Don't let the people you love, the people who make you happy, the people who bring you joy-don't let them go. Hang on to them, even when it hurts. When it seems impossible. hold on to the things that breathe life into you. Listen to your soul and honor what it tells you. Live. Fight for what you love."~Rick

"With every end
Comes a beginning,
A new path forged
Through the pain
Of an end
Giving life,
Giving breath
That once caught cannot be lost"
-M. White

It's a beautifully written love story, about friendship, love, family, grief and foregiveness. 4 beautiful stars!

Vegyes érzelmeim voltak a könyvvel a kapcsolatban.
Elliot itt maradt a testvérével.

About the Author

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. From roots in Houston to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.
