Captivated by You by Sylvia Day

Series: Crossfire 4,
Blurb:
Gideon calls me his angel, but he's the miracle in my life. My gorgeous, wounded warrior, so determined to slay my demons while refusing to face his own.The vows we'd exchanged should have bound us tighter than blood and flesh. Instead they opened old wounds, exposed pain and insecurities, and lured bitter enemies out of the shadows. I felt him slipping from my grasp, my greatest fears becoming my reality, my love tested in ways I wasn't sure I was strong enough to bear.
At the brightest time in our lives, the darkness of his past encroached and threatened everything we'd worked so hard for. We faced a terrible choice: the familiar safety of the lives we'd had before each other or the fight for a future that suddenly seemed an impossible and hopeless dream...

My Review:
I'm in a difficult situation. On one hand I loved this book, on the other hand it was ok, it was good. I feel this way because the previous books were more interesting. BUT I loved it because this book was written in not just Eva's POV, but we became to know Gideon's POV too!!! And I loved it! It was good to see how Gideon felt. Why did he do, what he did. What were his problems, how he was trying to be perfect for Eva, how he was trying to change for Eva.
“She wasn’t like any woman who’d come before her. Not just because of who she was, but also because of who I was when I was with her.” ~Gideon
“My wife would fight the world for me. It was miraculous to know that. When no one else had fought for me, I’d somehow found the one soul who would.”
“You make me happy,” he said, in the deep firm tone he used when making an unswayable decision. “I’d forgotten what that feels like. Don’t devalue what you mean to me.” ~Gideon
Gideon was a different man before Eva. And now we could see how he changed. He never chased a woman, they threw themselves at him. But he chased Eva from the first time. And he got her. Now he fights to keep her. It's not a simple, easy task, because now everyone knows how Gideon feels about her, and a lot of people want to hurt Gideon, or Eva. They have to fight for their relationship against almost everyone (Corinne, Anne, Deanna, Landon, Christopher, Brett, Gideon's mother).
“Goddamn it. You’ll never be without me. We’re going to grow old together. Die together. I’m not going to live a single day without you.” ~Gideon
“I'm fighting here, with everything I've got. Fight for me too.” ~Gideon
And of course there are Gideon's nightmares, not just because of what happened with him when he was a kid, but because of what he did for Eva. Eva wants to help him moving on, she doesn't want to see him suffering, and she does thing for it, things Gideon doesn't like.
“She can’t change the past.” “It’s not the past she’s thinking of.” He set his hand briefly on my shoulder. “It’s the future.”
I can't help I love Gideon! And because of him I love this series, and now I don't care that it's not just a trilogy. I want the whole story. I want the happily ever after!

Quotes:
"Tell me you love me." "Madly. You rock my world, Mr. Cross." (...) "You're the center of mine"
“Are you in love Mr. Cross?" "Irrevocably.”
“You okay, angel mine?” “I’m in your arms. Life doesn’t get better than this.”
"I want to be the man of your dreams, angel," he said, surprising me. "I want that more than anything." I looked back at him. "You've got that in the bag already.”
“That compromise means you don’t always have to be the strong one, Gideon. You can do the heavy lifting on occasion, and you can let Eva do it sometimes. Marriage isn’t about whether you’re strong enough as an individual. It’s about how strong you are together and the luxury of taking turns carrying the load.” ~Dr. Petersen
“My mother used to say that a son is a son until he gets married—then he’s a husband—but a daughter is a daughter for life.”

Mik a problémái, hogyan próbál tökéletes lenni Eva számára, hogyan próbál megváltozni Eva-ért.
Gideon teljesen más ember volt mielőtt megismerte Evat. És most láthatjuk hogyan változott meg. Korábban sosem üldözött nőket, a nők vetették rá magukat.
