Ez a rész is nagyon tetszett! Kedvenc az egész sorozat. Ennek az oka, hogy nem kiszámítható történetről van szó! Az hogy hogyan alakul Lexi sorsa az csak a végén derül ki, nagyon szurkoltam neki, hogy tovább tudjon lépni.
Az írónő ebben a könyvben is a jelen és a múlt történései között ugrándozik. A történet 1 évvel az után kezdődik, amikor Lexi elhagyta Atlantát (ekkor hívja fel Ramsey, hogy menjen el vele az esküvőre), ez a jelen, és az elmúlt év történései váltják egymást. Folyamatosan haladunk a jelenben, és közben megismerhetjük a múlt egy-egy fontosabb eseményét.
A hangsúly ebben a könyvben Lexi és Ramsey kapcsolatán van. Egyszerűen imádom Ramseyt. Mikor olvastam a történetet szinte el is felejtettem, hogy ki is az a Jack? Ramsey irtó jó pasi, és imádnivaló, bár a nagy titkolózás, hazugság miatt fekete pontot kap tőlem, de ennek ellenére kedvenc! Végül is sokkal elfogadhatóbb amit tett, mint amit Jack tesz.

"How had she gotten here…to this moment? For years she had left herself guarded and out of reach to everyone around her. Saying it out loud, that she loved Ramsey, broke down all of those barriers. He wasn’t replacing Jack. To think that he was just a replacement would somehow diminish what she was feeling at this moment. He was so much more than that to her. He had opened up a new part of her that she didn’t even know existed."
Itt említeném meg Parkert, Ramsey múltjából. Engem zavarna kettejük kapcsolata. Ha a párom ennyire egy hullámhosszon van valakivel, akkor kettejük között erős a kapocs. De ahogy haladunk az időben láthatjuk, hogy Ramsey tényleg szereti Lexit. De nekem akkor sem esne jól, ha tudnám, hogy a barátom körül mindig ott van az exe.
Jack nem sokat jelenik meg Lexi életében, az eltelt egy év alatt csak kétszer beszéltek, az is krízishelyzet miatt. Csak az esküvő előtt egy héttel találkoznak újra. Jack annak ellenére hogy egy héten belül feleségül akarja venni Bekaht, hozza a megszokott formáját. Nem engedi Lexit, tudja milyen hatással van rá, és ezt ki is használja. Igazából, látom én hogy milyen a kapcsolatuk, hogy vonzzák egymást, tényleg egymással kellene lenniük. De nem értem Jacket, soha nem kellett neki Lexi. Tényleg szereti? Szeretnék belelátni a fejébe, mert egyszerűen nem értem mit érezhet. Ha szereti Lexit, miért nincs vele? miért kell mindig más? Ha pedig nem szereti miért nem engedi továbblépni? És amit könyv végén tett... Hát nem minősíteném...
"One part of her desperately wanted to see him. She wanted to run into his arms and feel his body against her own. She wanted to forget everything that had happened. She wanted hert world to be tipped off its axis and bask in the goodness of his love. This was the part that she so readily repressed. She no longer wanted to see the wedding canceled so she could finally claim Jack for her own. No.
So that when Jack came crawling back to her, as he always did, she could tell him no. She could be the one to turn him down, the one to leave him hanging, the one to choose."
Lexi szerintem sokat fejlődött az első könyvhöz képest. Belátta hibáját, és szégyenli amit Clarkkal tett, és azt, hogy lefeküdt Jackkel, mielőtt az mást eljegyzett. Elhatározza, hogy jobb lesz ennél, hogy továbblép. Elhiszem én, hogy fájdalmas lehet számára ez az egész. Nehéz egy nagy szerelmet hátrahagyni, de belátja, hogy nem jó ez, nem tudna bízni Jackben még ha együtt lennének is. Már túl sok fájdalmat okozott neki. Annak ellenére, hogy mindezt belátja, nem tud elszakadni tőle. Teljesen elgyengül, ha a hangját hallja, ha látja, csak a jó dolgokra emlékszik ekkor. Nem hiszek az újrakezdésben, szerintem ami egyszer elromlott, vagy nem működött, az nem fog a jövőben megoldódni, mindig feljönnek a régi sérelmek. Ezért is szurkoltam Lexinek, hogy tudjon továbblépni, annyit szenvedett már Jack miatt. De kivel is lépjen tovább? Ugye ott van Ramsey. Egyértelműen az én befutóm! :) De Lexi benne is csalódott, mert hazudott neki és titkolózott. A könyv elején nem tudjuk, hogy ezt meg tudja e bocsátani. Ugyanakkor ott van a Titokzatos Férfi (akinek kiléte csak a könyv legvégén derül ki). Már az első fejezetben megjelenik, és ha nem Ramsey reméltem hogy ő lesz az, aki Lexi jövőjét jelenti majd...Szóval három pasi: Jack, Ramsey, Titokzatos férfi. Hogyan tovább? :)
Bekah továbbra is egy álnok kígyó. Az első részben célja, hogy Jack és Lexi kapcsolatát rontsa el, most pedig Lexi és Ramsey kapcsolata a célpont. Sejteni lehet, hogy Jack és Bekah kapcsolata nem tökéletes, és a végén láthatjuk is, hogy mennyire nem az. Vajon meddig fog tartani ez a házasság? Igazából Bekah annyira unszimpatikus karakter számomra, hogy azt kívánom, hogy essen jól pofára ezzel a házassággal. Okozzon neki is annyi fájdalmat Jack, mint Lexinek.
Azt kell mondjam, hogy ha ez lett volna a sorozat utolsó része, akkor is teljesen elégedett lettem volna. De van még egy rész és az is nagyon jó!
A könyv olvastatta magát, nehezen tudtam letenni.
